Designed by local Prince Rupert artist and resident Kelli Clifton (Gitga’at – Hartley Bay), the ball showcases four crests representing the clans of the Ts'msyen peoples. It features the Killer Whale, Raven, Wolf and Eagle.
The colours are also significant: they represent the green forest, blue ocean, the yellow morning sky and the orange evening North Coast sunset. There are also water droplets that represent the rain of the North Coast.
