The Prince Rupert Seamen
sea·man
noun
plural noun: seamen
-
a person who works as a sailor, especially one below the rank of officer.
A Seaman is nothing without his mates.
A Seamen is a hard-nosed competitor, the kind who thrives in rough conditions, be it in a downpour, the salty winds of the ocean, or the bruising scrums. They have a no-nonsense attitude, with a work ethic rooted in tough coastal living—maybe they’ve worked the docks, surfed the waves, or spent long hours training in the elements.
Off the field, the seamen embody true coastal spirit—stoic, fiercely loyal, and quick with a laugh, but never one to shy away from a challenge. Their bond with the team is like the ocean itself—deep, unshakeable, and ever-present. The Seamen may not always be the flashiest, but when the going gets tough, they rely on each other to keep the ship steady and lead the charge.

Men of the Match
Every team has its symbols, and the Seamen’s prized possession is something that’s as much a part of their team spirit as any trophy: the Man of the Match belt. The belt isn’t given out for tries or tackles. It is awarded for bravery, for leadership, for grit when the game seemed lost, for the player who kept their head when everyone else might have faltered. While some argue that the belt is as old as the team, others say that it made its debut on May 18th 2016.
